The Historical Peninsula and classical music... Galataport Istanbul is all set for the jubilation of the Republic Day.

As part of the October 29 events, Galataport Istanbul presents the Doğuş Children’s Symphonic Orchestra (DCSO), which is comprised of 39 conservatory students between 11 and 18 years of age from various regions of Turkey. DCSO will perform a Republic Concert on the Port Square, with Prof. Rengim Gökmen as conductor and General Music Director, and aspiring young pianist İlyun Bürkev as soloist.

Founded by Doğuş Group in 2006, DCSO has performed alongside renowned local and international musicians, such as world-celebrated pianists Fazıl Say and Gülsin Onay, violinist Cihat Aşkın, “The Three Tenors” in Ayhan Uştuk, Aykut Çınar and Şenol Talınlı, the legendary flamenco guitarist Jose Maria Gallardo Del Rey, the Antonio Marqu Dance Company, tenor Nicola Martinucci and violinist Alexander Markov.
